Who issues a remodel permit in El Mirage

El Mirage handles building permits and inspections through its Development Services department at 10000 N El Mirage Road, open Monday to Friday. A permit is required for new construction, for repair or alteration of an existing structure, and whenever a building is remodelled, renovated or enlarged — which covers essentially every kitchen and bathroom project worth doing. The city moved to an online permitting portal, ELM ONLINE, at the start of 2024, so applications, inspection scheduling and payment run through it rather than over a counter.

The El Mirage homes we work in

El Mirage was founded in 1937 by migrant farm workers on the west bank of the Agua Fria and incorporated in 1951, but almost none of its housing is anywhere near that old. The city counted 7,609 residents at the 2000 census and 31,797 by 2010 — more than a fourfold jump in ten years — as subdivisions went up across what had been farmland.

That concentration is unusually useful when we quote.
